The Mission concluded a three-day productive and collaborative work among the University of Prishtina/Faculty of Law leadership, professors, judges, prosecutors, Free Legal Aid Agency (FLAA) representatives, lawyers and students on developing guidelines for handling cases at the Legal Clinic Centre.
The guidelines aim to clarify students’ engagement in case work, under the mentorship of professors and FLAA staff, while insuring professional and ethical safeguards. With this, the faculty has taken an important step towards strengthening practical legal education through the Legal Clinic. As of next academic year, in addition to simulated cases, students, will have hands-on experience with real-life cases, further developing the necessary skills to prepare them for professional practice.
“The skills and values you will acquire through this experience will shape the legal professionals you become”, emphasized Pascale Langlais, Acting Chief of the Mission’s Law and Justice Section.
